| Elizabeth M. Australia, October 17, 2012 | Best cruise in the bay! Excellent food, service and spectacular spots with this best cruise! We cruised on Paloma and had an amazing time in this boat! It is most definatly one of the nicest boats to cruise on in Halong and everything from the pick up at the hotel to the service in board I cannot fault. It was my birthday while we were on the cruise and the staff organised a cake and flowers for me that night which was very lovely. I would have no hesitation in recommending the Paloma to see the best of halong bay |
| Vicki A. Couple Australia, September 16, 2012 | fantastic fantastic organisation Everything was well executed from pick up to cruise to drop off Travel tip: good vego food, if u want bigger cabin ask for paloma room or family suite |
| Max M. Couple New Zealand, September 07, 2012 | Lovely hotel Lovely tour guide Would have liked the cushions out on the furniture outside. |
| Samrat B. Couple India, September 01, 2012 | Smooth and peaceful trip Good hospitality, safe and peaceful I recommend this cruise for those who prefer a relaxed and peaceful 1 day 2 night trip. Its definitely not a party trip. So do not expect disturbances (or enjoyment)from Karoke sessions. Service quality is very good. That is typical of vietnam hospitality. Food served is full of adventure. The destination itself is an absolute wonder. It has been rightly judged as a UNESCO heritage and one of the Wonders of the world. |
| Joshua E. United Kingdom, August 29, 2012 | Lovely tour with great rooms staff and rooms great 2 day druise of paloma, the rooms were better than some of the hotels we stayed in during our travels around se asia. the staff were perfect, very good service and always with a smile. they seem to feed you all the time so expect to put on a few pounds but the food is lovely so we did not mind. the boat is a very good size with 2 decks with rooms and 2 other decks for pleasure. |
| Hsiao-An C. Family with older children Taiwan, August 20, 2012 | disappointed about the food, the lookk of cruise an feel quite disappointed when i saw the cruise! it's very different from the picture we saw on their website. And the food is not Vietnamness. the cabin we stayed, room no.202,has smell but our daughtors' didn't. |
| Kaizar R. Couple Singapore, August 11, 2012 | Good Value and Great service from start to end the booking was easy and we got proper confirmations. however, it did not include transportation which was a little bit of a worry. when we got to hanoi, we looked around and there were cheap transfers and expensive ones as well. we walked around the old quarter area and everyone tried to offer the private car which is heavily over priced for 2 people but great bargain for 4 people and i think would be quicker or prehaps more customizied( you can plan your own stops). we ended up caling paloma cruises and we got round trip for usd$20 . we got lucky as our transport was a mercedes mini van and quite comfortable for the 4 hour journey. we stop in the middle at the usual overpriced market mall which had nice embroidery pieces but just way too overpriced compared to hanoi. when we got to our destination, we were greeted . a few minutes later we were on a small boat to join up to the large cruise vessel. we were greeted with a cold towel and quick oreintation, and then to our rooms. humour and the cheerfull-ness of the crew made everyone feel much at ease from the beginning. our room was very cozy...double bed and good size bathroom area. best of all, ( which alot of reviews claimed as problems on thier cruises) the air conditioning worked very well from the moment we entered our room with this small intro, i don' t want to spoil the excitement of the unknown adventure as it was for us. just to summarize. great value for money. exceptional and very clean rooms and so much food you cannot even finsih. we had great company, and there was children on board which the staff too extra effort to make them happy. so in end a well spent relaxing 2 days 1 night on the waters of halong bay. Hotel Feature Tip: If you don't like to lift a finger on your vacation like myself, opt for the bamboo boats to take you around the fishing village rather than kayaking around...plus you will have more free time and hands for taking pictures. Carry your own bottle water, weather can get really hot. |
| Christian S. Family with young children Germany, | Very nice cruise good ship, friendly staff It was really a nice trip. Everything well organized, the ship was clean and the room was comfortable (family suite). Also the food was really good and more than enough. |
| Andrew R. United Kingdom, July 28, 2012 | Fantastic mini-cruise, but you don't go far... Scenery, friendly crew, great guide We were very pleased we took some advice from a friend and booked the 3 day, 2 night cruise-particulary bearing in mind the travelling the 4 hours from Hanoi. We booked the minibus through Paloma, which picked us up from our hotel-late. Not uncommon with the traffic in Hanoi apparently. Bus journey down there includes a break at a typical souvenir sales emporium, and I'm glad it wasn't any longer, as it was pretty cramped . Make sure you take your documentation as they stress on the booking-someone did not and had to travel the following day. Transfer out to the junk was on a small boat-and you are met with a warm greeting from the crew and cold towels. The cabin itself was compact, but nicely appointed in dark wood -unlike the outside of all these cruise junks that are now white. First day was a slow cruise out to the floating village-and the opportunity to take a small local boat for photos-well worth doing-and don't feel obliged to buy the conical hats placed on your head to keep the sun off. After that back to the mooring point for the overnight stop. The slight disappointment here is that you are not alone! It was like junk soup at the mooring stop. But with great food and a few drinks a good place to chill out on the upper deck. Second day for us was a transfer to a small junk for kayaking and beach day-absolutely brilliant-but we had good weather -the opportunity to kayak in and out of limestone caves and lagoons was brilliant. Final day was the "Amazing Cave"-say no more. Only niggles were western priced drinks-too expensive and lack of facilities-loungers etc. on the small junk -otherwise very enjoyable, if a bit too much "junk soup" at times. Hotel Feature Tip:We took the advice to go for the 3 day, 2 night from someone who had been before-based on travelling time from Hanoi-well worth it! |
